I’m praying that all of these people are 15 or younger
i actually think this is awful, not because these kids ~don’t know~ but because probably NO ONE EVER TOLD THEM, and i think it’s pretty scary that our cultural collective memory is so short or so easily distracted that we’re not telling our fucking 13 year olds about shit that happened when they were toddlers.
so instead of being like “lol u dumb” maybe we should think about why these kids don’t know these things and what it means that we’ll kill the fuck out of someone and all of his companions and then have parties in the street to celebrate but not tell our children that we’re even looking for him or why.

Think of it this way, these kids were probably 3, or 4 or 5 when 9/11 happened, and all they know about it is that it was some kind of horrific tragedy and they were too young to understand. The media hasn’t covered “the search for Osama” in a long time, so even if they’ve begun watching the news it’s not like they’d know. How much news were you watching when you were 13? Seriously? Did you know that much about politics? I’m not saying it’s excusable, but it’s understandable.
